Description
The original dust jacket is clean with minor shelf wear to the edges. There is a small bookshop pricing sticker on the bottom right corner of the front flap (covering the original price tag). The jacket is now wrapped in a clear, protective archival sleeve.
The original blue hardback boards feature titles in gold gilt to the spine. The exterior boards are clean with minor shelf wear and some light spotting to the top and bottom edges.
The spine is straight and the binding is tight. Outer edges of text block are clean with some light foxing to the top and fore edge.
Internally, there is some light foxing & toning to the front endpapers, but the main text block pages are bright, clean and tightly bound. There are no previous owner marks or inscriptions.
Seamus Heaney has flat signed and dated the book to the front free endpaper. The date is 13th June 1975, making this a unique copy signed within a week of publication.
A complete set of eight books from Sir David Attenborough’s ‘Life’ series. All true first editions, first printings and all flat signed by the author. Each title in publisher’s original cloth with gilt titles to spines. All respective photographic dust jackets present & unclipped. Clean throughout, with light wear and handling.
David Attenborough’s Life Collection consists of eight primary books, each acting as a companion to his landmark BBC television documentaries. Collectively, they provide a comprehensive survey of the natural world, from global evolution to the specific behaviours of major animal and plant groups.
